Buckner's is named for Captain Philip Buckner, a Revolutionary War veteran of the Virginia Militia awarded 7,000 acres along the Ohio River — land he donated to found the town of Augusta, Kentucky in 1797, along with its first school and courthouse before serving in the state legislature. The 10 Year is the youngest expression in Augusta Distillery's ultra-premium Buckner's lineup, which climbs through 13, 15, and 17 Year bottlings — all Kentucky-sourced single barrels bottled unfiltered at full cask strength, never proofed down. Founded in 2018 on the limestone banks of Augusta, the distillery began as a bottler while building a $23 million facility in the historic 1883 F.A.
