MB Roland Kentucky Dark Fired Whiskey is a one-of-a-kind whiskey from MB Roland Distillery in Pembroke, Kentucky, the farm distillery founded by Paul and Merry Beth Tomaszewski that was the first craft distillery in the state's Bourbon Trail Craft Tour. Pembroke sits in dark-fired tobacco country, where tobacco is cured over smoldering hardwood, and MB Roland applies the same technique to its corn, smoking it in a tobacco barn before mashing. The result is a corn whiskey with a signature smoky, savory character unlike anything from peat: sweet corn and caramel wrapped in hardwood smoke, with vanilla and spice and a long, distinctly Kentucky finish. This release is bottled at 110.6 proof, giving the smoke and sweetness plenty of intensity. It is a fascinating pour for fans of smoky Scotch or mezcal, and it makes a memorable smoky Old Fashioned. MB Roland also makes the dark-fired bourbon and the black patch whiskey that share the technique, and its stillhouse is one of the more characterful stops in western Kentucky.Buy MB Roland Kentucky Dark Fired Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
