Starward Solera is the original whisky from Starward Distillery in Melbourne, Australia, and the one that launched the brand. It is distilled from Australian malted barley and matured in Apera casks, Apera being the Australian name for locally made fortified wine in the sherry style, using a solera system in which younger whisky is continually married with older stock so the character stays consistent and deep. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The whisky is rich amber with dried fruit, caramel and oak on the nose, a palate of raisin, toffee, nut and a hint of spice with a smooth, velvety texture, and a long, warming finish. It sits somewhere between a sherried Speyside malt and something entirely new, and it works neat, over ice or in a whisky cocktail. A great introduction to the Australian whisky scene.Buy Starward Solera Single Malt Whisky online with fast shipping right to your door.
