Weekend Discovery｜Powers Three Swallow Irish Whiskey｜ Other Products

Powers Three Swallow Irish Whiskey is a single pot still release named for the three swallows on the historic Powers label, said to represent the three Power family members who ran the John's Lane Distillery. Made at Midleton Distillery from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled, it is matured mainly in bourbon barrels with a smaller portion of Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 43.2% ABV (86.4 proof). It is lighter and fresher than the older John's Lane: vanilla, honey and orchard fruit on the nose, a smooth palate of green apple, cereal sweetness and gentle pot still spice, with a touch of sherry fruit on the medium finish. It sips well neat and makes a superb pot still Old Fashioned or whiskey sour. This 750ml bottle is an affordable step into single pot still whiskey with the Powers backbone.
