It comes from the same century-old process as everything the family makes on Fazenda Vista Alegre in Minas Gerais, the interior state that produces 60% of Brazil's artisanal cachaça and treats the craft as something noble: sugarcane grown on 300 hectares without chemical additives, hand-cut with machetes at peak ripeness, fermented the 500-year-old way with yellow corn meal and wild native yeasts over two to three weeks, then distilled in copper pot stills over open flame, keeping only the heart. Where the Palha bottling splits its time between French oak and Brazilian bálsamo, Brasil spends a full five years in French oak — the longest pure-oak aging in the core range — which rounds the grassy cane spirit into something deep amber, silky, and genuinely rich.
