Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Whiskey｜ Other Products

Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Whiskey is the flagship from Glendalough Distillery, set up by a group of friends from Wicklow and Dublin who left their day jobs to revive craft distilling in the Wicklow Mountains. St Kevin, the hermit monk of Glendalough, is the figure on the label. It is a single grain whiskey aged first in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, and bottled at 42% ABV (84 proof). The bourbon wood gives vanilla, caramel and light citrus; the sherry finish adds dried fruit and a nutty richness with a soft, smooth texture. It is one of the easiest-drinking whiskeys in the shop and a great mixer for an Irish coffee, a whiskey ginger or an Irish Mule. This 750ml bottle is a strong value in Irish whiskey and a good introduction to the distillery.
