Lobos 1707 Joven is LeBron James' tequila — a blanco finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks by the solera method, and Thirty-One Whiskey says the PX time makes it more complex than a standard blanco and elevates a Margarita. Diego Osorio, a filmmaker descended from a 1707 Spanish ancestor of the same name, launched Lobos in 2020 with CEO Dia Simms and early backing from James, Maverick Carter, Anthony Davis, and Draymond Green; it's made at Compañía Tequilera de Arandas, NOM 1460, in the Los Altos highlands, with a Spanish sherry master and a Mexican tequila master working the finish, and the brand states zero color or flavor additives. The Joven is 100% highland blue Weber agave, double-distilled in copper, carbon-filtered, then finished in PX wine barrels from Spain through a solera, and bottled at 40% ABV in the tall tapered bottle embossed with the Osorio coat of arms and an agave wind-rose compass. InsideHook: bright, floral, grassy agave on the nose, pepper on the palate, an almost buttery finish — a blanco a little richer than the norm, and the PX finish makes it more interesting than the average celebrity tequila. Honest note: the rare celebrity bottle with a real idea in it — Spain meets Jalisco — and the sherry adds a sweetness purists will note and Margarita drinkers will love.
