Refined Finish｜97181591AB - Old Skool Checkerboard fairings - Scrambler Icon｜ Other Products

An “old skool” graphic design inspired by the legendary checkerboard pattern, a symbol of freedom, speed and rebellious spirit. The black and white checkered pattern recalls the races of yesteryear and the custom culture of the 1980s. A simple yet iconic design that gives the Scrambler a bold, racer-inspired attitude. The checkerboard pattern, or black and white checkered pattern, originated on the racetrack long before it became a style icon. It all began in the early decades of the 20th century, when car and motorcycle races were looking for a clear and visible way to signal the end of a race: the checkered flag. Its contrasting colors were perfect to be seen even from a distance, amid dust, speed and crowds, and that is how the checkered pattern became a universal symbol of victory and adrenaline. In the 1960s and 1970s, motorcycle and car culture absorbed that powerful image, transforming it from a simple race signal into a graphic element and symbol of identity. Checkered liveries began to decorate helmets, suits and fairings, becoming synonymous with racing spirit, rebellion and freedom. In the world of custom and café racer bikes, the checkerboard pattern became a recognisable symbol: simple yet full of meaning. Wearing it or applying it to your bike meant declaring your belonging to a culture of passion, speed and authenticity. Today, the old skool checkerboard livery continues to evoke that golden age: it is a tribute to the roots of motorcycling, to smoky pits, to improvised races and to the desire for freedom that animated every ride. The new graphic design, specifically applied to the tank cover, headlight cover, front and rear mudguards, and frame side body panels, further enhances the iconic Scrambler style, making it even more distinctive.
